Spring Clean

At the end of every winter after the snow has melted there is always scoria build up on the street sides of your lawn as well as damage to these same areas from snow plows.  The scoria needs to be picked up via power broom and the sod needs to be put back or replaced.  The rest of your lawns need what is call aeration and thatching.  All of these services are labor intensive but very necessary for the upmost care of your lawn.  Because of the huge snow year we will encounter a drastic increase in scoria and snow plow damage to your properties.  With this we will be spending more time than usual cleaning and repairing the damage.
Aeration
There are many benefits of aerating your lawn.  The first is an increase in the growth rate of the grass, thus, improving its ability to with stand an recover from any pedestrian use, as well as increasing the ability of water and fertilizer to penetrate to the grasses roots.  Aeration also improves root growth activity which contributes to the strength and health of the grass and it enables the bacteria present in the soil to break down and decompose the thatch layer which increases the soils ability to hold sufficient amounts of moisture between watering.  Because of all these benefits we do recommend aeration twice a season:  one in the spring and once in the fall.
